HooYu is an online service designed to enable individuals to quickly build trust in each other through a straightforward identity and document confirmation process. To provide the service we need to collect Personal Data from our users. We are committed to maintaining the privacy of any Personal Data that you submit when using the HooYu service and this policy statement tells you how we will deal with such Personal Data.
Where HooYu’s operations are subject to privacy legislation other than that of the UK, then this policy shall be applied so far as practicable and consistent with such local legislation. You may connect your existing social and online accounts to your HooYu profile using the single sign-in services which are offered during the HooYu process. This allows us to analyse the profile information from your accounts to help us to confirm your identity.

We take protection of your Personal Data very seriously. We employ good industry practice for the collection, storage, processing and security of Personal Data, including protection against unauthorised access. Our systems are continually upgraded to improve such security in line with latest developments.
HooYu will not share with third parties, rent or sell your Personal Data for any reason that is not set out in this Policy or which is apparent to you at the time the information is provided.
HooYu may disclose Personal Data to HooYu employees and contracted companies acting as data processors on HooYu’s behalf. Data processors acting on HooYu’s behalf may only use the information in line with HooYu’s instructions.
Once you have been through the identity confirmation process you will be shown the information that we propose to send back to the person or company that requested identity confirmation and you will have the opportunity to decide what Personal Data is sent.
HooYu may also disclose Personal Data if required to do so by law or in the good faith that such disclosure is necessary to: (i) comply with legal process or assist law enforcement agencies including the Police and the Information Commissioner’s Office; (ii) respond to claims of a violation of the rights of third parties; or (iii) protect the rights, property or safety of HooYu, its users, or the public.

We will retain your Personal Data only for as long as your account is active or as it is needed to provide the agreed services or as is necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. Thereafter, we will delete your Personal Data with the exception of your name and email address and a summary of any transactions that you were involved in.
If you want to terminate your HooYu account, email us at email@example.com with details of your account (username, email address, first name and last name). For security we will confirm to you by email before closing your account. When confirmed your account will be closed and your ability to log in deactivated immediately.

Each time you return to Hooyu this information will be automatically sent back to the Hooyu servers enabling it to identify the computer that is connected to the Hooyu Service and to recall your personal settings for use of the Hooyu Service.
